ARGUMENT TEXT 1: ELECTIONS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BRING CONFLICT
Thesis:
Elections are the process of electing and authorizing those elected to become leaders and representatives of the people. Elections are held every 4 years, precisely in this year 2024 elections will take place. In the election process, people have the right to vote to elect candidates for president / vice president, DPD, DPR, and DPRD members at the provincial and district / city levels. Each Presidential candidate has a strategy to attract the public to vote for him during the election. Vision and Mission become the strategy of the presidential and vice presidential candidates to convince the public during the election. As citizens, we must choose wisely not only the vision and mission that is their foundation, but we must also look for the digital footprint of each candidate. Will the vision and mission work?
Argument 1:
The vision and mission statements made by the candidates have not only raised many questions but also caused chaos in the community. It is not only the vision and mission statements that cause chaos in the community, but also the many sweet promises made by the candidates that we do not know whether they will be fulfilled or are just talk. This chaos also causes the potential for conflict in the community to increase, especially after the election. It seems that this conflict is based on a high level of fanaticism towards one of the parties (candidates). High fanaticism behavior refers to people taking to the streets to campaign, which causes chaos to occur. Differences in opinion and belief in one of the candidates between each other also caused the riots to escalate.
Argument 2:
The cause of the conflict created new problems such as many missing ballots. According to information from the media, one of the parties said that the missing ballots occurred before the voting took place. The party also said that the ballots were already in the ballot boxes but when they were at the polling stations they were no longer there, even though the padlocks on the ballot boxes were still sealed and not damaged. But it could also be that the missing ballots were based on the fraud of one of the parties or the actions of individuals based on hatred. Another thing related to damaged ballots is triggered because there are irresponsible people who show a sense of hatred that arises against one of the candidates as a result of hostility to each other during the campaign.
Argument 3:
Other problems arising from electoral conflicts include spoiled ballot papers and missing ballot boxes. Damaged ballot papers are arguably caused by the printing process. However, it is possible that the spoiled ballot papers were intentionally made by someone who was ignorant, or there could have been a conspiracy. The missing ballot boxes also raise many questions from the public as to whether or not the security guards guarded them properly during the elections. We don't know the exact reason for this, but it is highly improbable.
Conslusion:
The causes of conflict in elections are not only based on high fanaticism but also differences of opinion and belief in one of the candidates. The government should strive so that the next election does not cause chaos and conflict that will create new problems during the election. The government should strive for the community to be peaceful before the election and during the election and after the election is held.
